My journey started during the COVID era, a period marked by significant academic challenges ,yet unexpectedly valuable in teaching independence, resilience, and self-discipline. With routines disrupted, I learned to adapt, reflect, and take ownership of my learning in ways that shaped my approach to growth in the years that followed.

In sixth grade, I took my first step towards extracurricular activity when I was selected by my seniors for Model United Nations training. Under their guidance, I was introduced to public speaking, global affairs, and formal discussion, which sparked a keen interest in personal development and profile building. By seventh grade, this curiosity led me to explore widely. I participated in various competitions including drawing, MUNs, debates, and inter-school events, using this phase to experiment and understand where my interests truly lay.

Eighth grade marked a subtle shift. I began enjoying speaking more confidently and started narrowing my interests, even though I was not entirely sure of my direction. It was during this phase that I realized the importance of making intentional choices about my future. Ninth grade further strengthened this realization through leadership experiences. Serving as Deputy House Captain and participating in the Round Square Conference hosted by my school helped me understand the value of confidence, responsibility, and leading by example. Alongside this, I continued debating and attending MUNs to strengthen my communication skills.

Tenth grade was a crucial academic milestone. Guided by my seniors’ advice, I focused on balancing academics and extracurriculars, prioritizing my studies while remaining engaged in leadership conferences and serving on an executive board. This phase significantly enhanced my speaking skills and deepened my interest in news and media, ultimately leading me to decide on pursuing Mass Communication. I completed Grade 10 with a score of 90%, reinforcing my belief in balanced effort.

I entered Grade 11 with clarity, choosing Humanities with Psychology and Marketing. Understanding the difference between what I liked and what I wanted to pursue became a defining realization. While the process involved uncertainty, guidance from my school counselor, parents, and teachers helped me make informed decisions. One of the most important lessons I learned was to ask for help and value others’ perspectives. Grade 11 pushed me to grow rapidly, from active participation in extracurriculars to gaining real-world exposure through internships and practical learning experiences.

This marks my journey up to Grade 11.

Stay tuned for Grade 12
